perfect dancers, but all we really want is for them to enjoy the moment and give their best effort. Dancing is about expression and connection, not just about perfection. If they can let go of their nerves and just focus on the fun and the experience, they’ll shine out there.
I always remind them, “The audience is rooting for you!” It’s important to remember that everyone watching wants to see them succeed and enjoy their time on the show. So I encourage my partners to embrace their individuality, enjoy the dance, and let their personality come through. That’s what makes each performance unique and memorable.
As we step onto the floor, I also like to take a moment to appreciate the surroundings—the bright lights, the cheering audience—because it really is a magical experience. When I dance, I try to embody that joy and energy, and I hope it inspires my partner to do the same.
In the end, no matter how much we get ready or practice, the best part is to have fun and make great memories together!
