A woman was hospitalized following a serious car accident in Bolton on September 13, 2024. The incident occurred around 2 PM on Longsight in Harwood when a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old woman crashed into a parked car, resulting in her vehicle overturning.
Details of the Accident
Emergency services received reports of the collision at approximately 2:05 PM. Witness accounts indicate that the collision led to the woman’s vehicle flipping onto its roof after impact. Local police quickly closed off the affected road to facilitate rescue operations.
Firefighters from both Bolton North and Bolton Central stations responded promptly to the scene. Crew Manager Peter Kerry reported that firefighters worked for about an hour to safely extricate the woman from her vehicle. “The car was on its roof, so we cut the occupant free out of one of the car doors,” Kerry said. This allowed paramedics from North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) to assess her condition.
After being freed, the woman was transported to Royal Bolton Hospital. According to officials, her injuries are considered minor, and she did not sustain life-threatening injuries during the incident.
Police and firefighters remained at the scene to ensure safety and facilitate the removal of the overturned vehicle from the roadway. A spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police confirmed that no other injuries were reported from the accident.
