Lionsgate has released the final trailer for its upcoming action comedy The Killer’s Game, led by Marvel veteran Dave Bautista. The film, arriving in theaters on September 13, teases Bautista’s reunion with Guardians of the Galaxy co-star Pom Klementieff, who plays his character’s enemy. The trailer showcases Bautista’s thrilling fighting sequences as he battles hitmen after mistakenly putting out a kill contract on himself.

Directed by J.J. Perry and based on Jay R. Bonansinga’s novel, the film also stars Sofia Boutella, Terry Crews, Ben Kingsley, and others. The plot follows hitman Joe Flood (Bautista), who, diagnosed with a terminal illness, takes a hit out on himself, leading to a confrontation with several assassin colleagues when his ex-girlfriend becomes a target.

Bautista expressed that he was drawn to the film not just for the action, but for the opportunity to play a romantic lead. The film adaptation faced nearly three decades of development hurdles before gaining traction with Lionsgate. Bautista was insistent on casting Boutella in the role of Maize, his character’s girlfriend, and worked to ensure her involved despite scheduling conflicts.

The trailer for *The Killer’s Game* has gotten people really excited, especially because of Bautista’s role in it. The movie looks like it will have a fun mix of action and romance!
